Michelle Nyman, Physician Assistant-Certified
Michelle Nyman, PA-C was raised in the Pacific Northwest, growing up in Portland, Oregon. The first time she was introduced to a physician assistant was at a dermatology appointment. There she observed that the PA explained the diagnosis thoroughly, even drawing a diagram, and took the time to walk through the steps of treatment. She realized she wanted to become a PA and provide the same high level of care with quality communication and education between provider and patient. Michelle was accepted into the Physician Assistant Program at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) in New York.
While attending RIT, she balanced working part-time, obtaining a minor in exercise science, and graduating magna cum laude. She served as the Secretary Officer in PASA, the Physician Assistant Student Association. During the 2011 AAPA conference (American Academy of Physician Assistants), she helped establish student policies for the AAPA student academy in the Assembly of Representatives as the RIT representative.
Michelle started her first job as a PA in the Emergency Department at Unity Hospital in Rochester, New York. After 2 years, she was ready for a new adventure and decided to move to Austin, Texas. She worked at Hill Country Allergy and Asthma and led the opening of their new satellite clinic in Leander, Texas. After a year, she found her way back to the ER and focused on her favorite population-pediatrics. She refined her skills at Dell Children’s Medical Center ER, a level 1 trauma center and teaching hospital. She became very comfortable with the pediatric population, doing procedures such as lumbar punctures on infants and laceration repairs.
EarWell Centers of Excellence offered noninvasive, detail-oriented ear molding that allowed Michelle to harness her passions: babies and procedures. She looks forward to meeting newborns and their families and guiding them through ear molding while also getting to watch them grow!
